**🚀 Super Day Hiring Event — Data Science Internship (Perpay)** *Perpay is a certified B Corp and Philadelphia’s impactful growth-stage startup, improving the financial stability of everyday Americans.* --- ## About the Super Day - **Date:** November 13th - **Location:** Perpay HQ, Philadelphia - **Format:** Office tour, team meet-and-greet, and a fast-tracked interview process - **Notes:** Attendance is **invite-only** and applicants must complete a **pre-work challenge** to be considered. - **Application Deadline:** **November 2nd** --- ## About the Role Perpay’s Data Science team owns modeling work that drives key decisions across: - Credit decisioning - Loss forecasting - Marketing-mix attribution - Product experimentation - ML systems powering real-time customer experiences As a **Data Science Intern**, you’ll learn by doing real work. During the **summer of 2027**, you’ll use Perpay’s data to research, identify, and build features that train models and create measurable impact. You’ll partner with stakeholders across **Engineering, Risk, Marketing, Merchandising, and Finance**, and work with a stack including: - **Python** (scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, statsmodels) - **SQL** - **Amazon Redshift** --- ## What to Expect **Within your first week:** - Introduce yourself on Slack and meet your team - Get oriented in datasets, review existing models/analyses, and start reading the codebase **Within your first month:** - Become fluent enough to explore and build independently - Scope your first real project with a mentor (including approach + trade-offs) - Ship your first contribution (feature, analysis, or model improvement) **By the end of your internship:** - Ship a model, feature, or analysis the team relies on after you’re gone - Present your work and understand what production data science looks like day-to-day - Meet business owners across the company to build your network --- ## What You’ll Bring - Currently enrolled in (or will receive) a **Master’s** in **Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems**, or equivalent (expected graduation **winter 2027–summer 2028**), or equivalent relevant experience - Knowledge of **machine learning** and statistical research - Experience using **SQL** to acquire and transform data - Proficiency in programming/analysis/visualization using **object-oriented languages** (Python preferred) ### Bonus - Enrolled in a Master’s or advanced technical degree - Previous technical work experience - Experience implementing ML solutions in production environments - Understanding of modern scalable data science platforms --- ## Internship Perks - Hourly compensation - Espresso bar, full kitchen, weekly catered lunches, snacks, beverages, and everyday lunch essentials - One-of-a-kind office with comfortable work/lounge spaces and a riverfront setting - Experience across e-commerce + fintech in a fast-paced startup --- ## Full-time Team Benefits (if applicable) - Meaningful compensation and equity - Premium medical benefits - 5% employer 401k match - Unlimited PTO - Remote weeks around major holidays + extra weekend days (e.g., MDW/LDW) - High-quality catered lunch (4 days/week) - Gym subsidy, paid cell phone + plan - Student loan repayment match, family savings match - Relocation assistance - Generous team member discounts **Note:** This is **100% onsite** (#LI-Onsite). --- ## Equal Opportunity Perpay is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to an in
