We enable innovators to build and scale AI with confidence through superior infrastructure performance and deep technical expertise. --- ## About the role The **Data Platforms Team** is responsible for **data ingestion, data flow, and retrieval**. You’ll help develop use cases, discover innovative solutions, and automate/operate our data platform infrastructure. We’re seeking a **Staff Engineer** specializing in **data platforms and stream processing** to support our **multi-regional datastore strategy** and establish **communication models for our data flow**. You’ll work with a **team of 6–8 engineers** in a communicative, supportive, high-performing environment. ### What you’ll do - Drive technical decision-making to accelerate delivery, mentor engineers, and grow team capability - Champion **event-driven architecture** adoption and build consensus across the organization - Identify and develop applications for the organization’s data (understand business needs and leverage data effectively) - Design and implement platform capabilities to deliver data to teams with a focus on **managed solutions** - Develop stream processing architecture and solve for **scalability and reliability** - Improve **performance, security, reliability, and scalability** of data platforms and related services; participate in on-call rotation - Establish guidelines/guardrails for **data access and storage** - Ensure compliance with standards for **data protection regulation** - Grow, change, invest in teammates, share ideas, listen, be curious, and have fun --- ## Wondering if you’re a good fit? - **15+ years** experience in software or infrastructure engineering - Strong understanding of **data consistency** and **concurrency models**; can define data models and data management guidelines - Familiar with distributed **NewSQL** datastores such as **CockroachDB, TiDB, YDB, Yugabyte** and/or stream processing tools such as **NATS or Kafka** - Experience designing and operating these systems at scale - Familiar with **Kubernetes**, with interest/experience using it for event-driven and/or stateful orchestration - Excited to contribute to a **Kubernetes operator** to manage data systems - Comfortable with **Linux**, shell scripting, and Linux storage/networking stacks - Ability to turn problems into elastic solutions, decompose into achievable tasks, and socialize plans with teammates - Production-level proficiency in **Go or Python**; interested in contributing to open source --- ## Why CoreWeave?
