The **Predictive Planning (PrePlan)** team develops and deploys state-of-the-art ML solutions that predict the future state of the world and plan the Waymo Driver's behavior — transforming unprecedented driving data into robust, generalizable deep neural networks. --- ### 📋 Responsibilities - Research, implement, and evaluate state-of-the-art models for planning and prediction - Analyze results in both open-loop and closed-loop settings - Conduct ML experiments using **JAX** and **Python** - Collaborate across teams and present conclusions/insights clearly --- ### ✅ Requirements - Currently pursuing a **PhD** in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related field - Experience with **Transformer architectures** and **reinforcement learning** - Hands-on experience with modern deep learning libraries (TensorFlow, JAX, PyTorch) and Python - Strong analytical and debugging skills --- ### ⭐ Nice to Have - Publications in top-tier ML or robotics conferences - Prior software development or research industry experience - Background in AV industry, particularly behavior-related research --- ### 💰 Compensation **$85/hr** (PhD rate) + benefits eligibility ### 📌 Notes - Hybrid onsite internship - Rolling applications until filled - Apply to each role individually (top 3 max)
