## Epic Senior Application Analyst (Prelude) ### Overview The Senior Epic Analyst designs, configures, tests, and implements changes for assigned Epic system applications. You’ll lead operational work groups to gather and analyze requirements for new requests, consult with Epic representatives and subject matter experts, manage projects, troubleshoot complex issues, support application upgrades, and help drive end-user adoption. ### What You Will Do **Analysis / Design** - Lead needs assessment, software design, implementation, and support - Collaborate with reporting teams and operational partners to gather requirements - Facilitate workflow design with subject matter experts to improve efficiencies and resolve complex workflow issues - Mentor other analysts on workflow design and analysis - Lead functional and integrated testing, including development/validation of testing scripts - Define and develop user access security - Oversee, review, and move builds to production as required **Clinical / Business Knowledge** - Understand clinical and business department processes and develop supporting workflows - Evaluate new technology options to improve systems and meet business needs - Participate in operational meetings to provide IT support and expertise **Testing** - Perform unit testing for assigned builds - Lead functional and integrated testing to ensure design objectives are met - Develop, modify, and maintain integrated testing scripts for your areas of ownership **Project and Change Management** - Lead projects through the Enterprise Project Management Office framework (scoping/design through implementation and transition to operations) - Collaborate across teams to develop change management strategy and plans - Plan for impacts when implementing new functionality **Maintenance / Support** - Support and troubleshoot inbound/outbound interface transaction errors; monitor interface error queues - Troubleshoot application issues with or without vendor assistance - Lead escalations to resolution with appropriate internal resources - Independently lead application upgrade tasks and troubleshooting; guide analysts and leadership - Provide 24x7 support via scheduled on-call rotation - Maintain security for assigned applications and follow change control processes **Mentoring** - Mentor and develop team members - Instruct on design/configuration work and assignments - Onboard and train new team members **Administrative / Documentation Requirements** - Develop policies and procedures with clinicians, other analysts, and the IT Epic team manager - Create and maintain system documentation (accurate and timely) - Support documentation standards and coordinate efforts to keep documentation current - Contribute to end-user training materials and participate in training - Coach junior team members and support onboarding ### Additional Responsibilities - Perform other duties as assigned - Comply with all policies and standards - Follow department orientation documentation for specific responsibilities - Maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) safely and securely; complete required annual training and follow UH Code of Conduct and UH policies --- ## Education - **High School Equivalent / GED** (Required) - **Bachelor’s Degree** in Information Systems / Business / Healthcare Related Field (Preferred) ## Work Experience - **4+ years** designing, configuring, testing, and maintaining Epic applications (Required) - **2+ years** working
