Do you want to turn emerging technologies in **intelligent networking, generative AI, agentic systems, automation, and cloud platforms** into production solutions—while shaping capabilities that benefit customers at scale? ### About the Role Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) are software engineers who work directly with strategic customers to jointly design, build, validate, and deploy solutions to complex business and technical problems using Extreme’s products and platforms. In this role, you will: - Operate in **real customer environments** and own technical outcomes from **discovery and solution design** through **implementation, deployment, and production readiness** - Build solutions that meet demanding requirements for **scalability, security, reliability, observability, and operational safety** - Write **production software** and solve complex **systems and integration** problems - Identify **platform gaps** and define new **feature requirements**, partnering with Product teams to incorporate recurring customer needs into Extreme’s products and platforms ### Responsibilities (Staff Forward Deployed Engineer) As a **Staff Forward Deployed Engineer**, you will be the **technical lead** for complex customer engagements, owning solutions from **discovery and architecture** through **implementation, deployment, and production readiness**. You will: - Work side by side with customer engineering teams to understand their **environment, data, systems, workflows, and technical constraints** - Turn complex or ambiguous problems into **production solutions** - Lead hands-on delivery while providing **technical leadership** to other engineers on the engagement - Deliver solutions that may include **agents, applications, integrations, data connectors, APIs, tools, skills, workflows, automation, and supporting infrastructure** - Identify reusable patterns and platform gaps from customer work, helping translate learnings into capabilities that extend beyond a single engagement
