We create transparent, fair, and simple financial products that put money back in the hands of our members—helping them spend wisely, avoid unfair fees, and build their credit quickly. ### Role Overview Brigit is seeking a mission-driven **Engineering Manager** to join our engineering leadership team. You’ll lead high-performing engineering teams building critical products, platform integrations, and scalable financial systems. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Business Operations to ship innovative product experiences at scale—from optimizing core features to leading **0-to-1** initiatives. You’ll be responsible for mentoring talent, establishing efficient team processes, and building an inclusive environment where engineers do their best work. ### What You’ll Be Doing - Lead, empower, and grow a diverse team of software engineers through regular 1:1s, actionable feedback, and structured career planning - Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Business to define roadmaps, scope technical initiatives, and balance business priorities with engineering speed - Drive technical execution across sprint planning, capacity allocation, and architectural oversight to ensure timely, reliable delivery - Guide architectural decisions and evaluate technical design docs for complex systems with high standards for security, testability, monitoring, and scale - Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement for both platform scaling and fast-paced 0-to-1 builds ### What You Have - **8+ years** total software engineering experience, including **3+ years** managing and mentoring engineering teams in high-growth environments - Proven experience building, shipping, and maintaining complex backend or platform architectures across multiple release cycles - Experience leading teams through technical ambiguity (including greenfield/0-to-1 builds or core platform transformations) - Strong cross-functional leadership skills working regularly with product, design, and business stakeholders - Passion for fostering an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture - **Tech stack (a plus):** Java on GCP (backend) and React Native (mobile frontend).
