**IT Windows Systems Engineer — Top Secret Clearance** SpaceX is looking for a **Windows Systems Engineer** with deep knowledge across **Microsoft-based technologies**, plus broader experience with **networking** and **Linux**. You’ll be part of the **Information Technology** team supporting SpaceX personnel and systems in a fast-paced, challenging environment. --- **Responsibilities** - Work with IT administrators/engineers to gather requirements, research, evaluate, design, plan, deploy, and support enterprise software platforms and related technologies. - Build **highly resilient, high-performance, scalable, and flexible** systems. - Apply SpaceX Enterprise lessons learned and technology standards to **smaller air-gapped environments**. - Own the processes, systems, and tools you create and manage. - Recommend, justify, and implement improvements using an accepted **change control** methodology. - Collaborate with internal business units to design solutions and resolve problems proactively. - Define, document, and follow standards/best practices for systems design, testing, and implementation. - Drive **scripting and automation** to solve common problems. --- **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline **and 5+ years** of IT systems experience, **or** 7+ years of IT systems experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. - 3+ years with **Windows servers** in physical and virtualized enterprise environments. - 3+ years with **Active Directory, Kerberos**, and multi-platform authentication/identification environments. - 1+ years with **networking technologies** and the **Linux** operating system environment. - 1+ year of **scripting** experience. - **Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q** clearance. --- **Preferred Skills and Experience** - Expertise designing repeatable, reliable, scalable architectures with **high availability**, fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring, and metrics. - Hands-on expertise with Windows services such as **DHCP, DNS, IIS, MS-SQL, NPS**, including setup/configuration/upgrade/management/troubleshooting. - Experience with **Enterprise Microsoft Exchange** deployments. - Expertise with **source code** and **version control** tools. - Experience with **configuration management**, **provisioning**, **infrastructure as code**, and other DevOps concepts/tools. - Strong familiarity with **Windows Server 2016/2019** (e.g., AD, DNS, DHCP). - Networking experience in **IPv4**, switching, routing, firewalls, and HA architecture. - Comfortable working with **mission-critical and sensitive systems** with appropriate urgency. - Excellent communication skills with internal/external customers, vendors, and management. --- **Additional Requirements** - Active **Top Secret** or **TS/SCI with Polygraph**. An active clearance may enable work on sensitive SpaceX missions; if so, you’ll be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug/alcohol testing. - Willing to travel domestically and globally (up to **~10%**) as needed. - Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed. --- **Compensation and Benefits** - **Pay Range:** **$130,000.00 – $175,000.00 / year** - Actual level/base salary determined case-by-case based on knowledge/skills, education, and experience. - Those with an active clearance receive a **10% differential**, up to an additional **$20,000 annually**, once officially briefed into a classified program. - Benefits may include long-term incentives (stock/stoc
