Within MPE, the MarTech pillar owns Affirm’s Logged-Out Web experiences, web experimentation, client-side tagging, marketing technology integrations, attribution, and measurement. As a **Software Engineer II (Frontend: Marketing and Privacy)**, you’ll build and improve **high-traffic consumer web experiences**, while contributing to **experimentation, instrumentation, and marketing integrations** that help Affirm understand and grow consumer acquisition. You’ll work in a modern web stack across **React, TypeScript, shared component systems, testing, performance, and observability**, with opportunities to deepen expertise in areas like **Google Tag Manager, analytics & experimentation platforms, conversion tracking, and marketing APIs**. You’ll partner with **senior engineers** and collaborate with **Product, Design, Marketing, Analytics, and Data Engineering** to ship reliable experiences and ensure measurement and privacy requirements are considered during development. ## What You’ll Do - Break down larger projects into tasks, deliver in multiple phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery. - Support stakeholders across the product development lifecycle by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs. - Create and monitor metrics to support operations and availability; escalate when needed and support “keep the lights on” on-call efforts. - Contribute to team community through growth and development activities (including participation in the interview process). ## What We Look For - **1.5+ years** of experience as a software engineer. - Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like **React** or **Vue**. - Experience working with **JavaScript/TypeScript**. - Ability to turn a simple problem/business scenario into a solution spanning multiple software components—writing clear, well-tested, extensible code. - Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging others’ code, and providing feedback via code reviews. - Ownership of growth: proactively seeking feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders. - Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team. - Requires either equivalent practical experience or a **Bachelor’s degree** in a related field. ## Compensation & Location - **Base Pay Grade:** L - **Equity Grade:** 6 - **USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT):** $165,000 - $225,000 / year - **USA base pay range (all other U.S. states):** $146,000 - $206,000 / year - #LI-Remote ## Remote-First & Benefits - **Remote-first with flexibility:** Most roles can be done from almost anywhere within the country of employment; some may require occasional in-person work or be office-based. - **Benefits highlights:** - Health coverage at no cost (100% premiums for employees and dependents) - Monthly spending stipends - Flexible time off and generous holiday calendars - Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) ## Equal Opportunity Affirm is committed to an inclusive interview process, including accommodations
