**Sr. Software Engineer (Data & Integrations Engineering)** ## About the role Cedar is seeking a seasoned **Sr. Software Engineer** to join the **Data & Integrations Engineering** team on the **Integrations Engineering** squad. You’ll integrate with new client systems and enhance integrations for live clients—supporting implementations, migrations, and live integration support for the flagship **Cedar Pay** product. You’ll partner closely with **Data & Integrations Platform, Product, Delivery, and Support**. This role focuses on refining critical integrations and making strategic investments in core data pipelines through **data semantics, 835 processing, and data catalog & lineage**. ## What you’ll do - Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of interfaces connecting live integration data to the rest of Cedar. - Serve as a product engineer for internal users—driving the roadmap and delivering tools/data abstractions that make messy, customer-sourced data understandable and consumable. - Support existing live clients by implementing strategic enhancements to their integrations. - Act as a technical mentor: establish coding standards and best practices for an evolving data platform. - Balance delivery for today’s needs with long-term alignment to the **North Star Architecture**, grounding work in business-critical outcomes. - Collaborate with delivery engineering teams to improve the **quality, speed, and scalability** of data integration with healthcare providers. - Continuously drive scalability across data tools, processes, and engineering practices to reduce implementation/analytic timelines, customer friction, and maintenance costs. - Apply rigorous software engineering practices to the data domain, including **version control, automated testing (unit/integration), CI/CD, and structured logging/observability**. ## Who you are - **6+ years** of professional software development experience (ideally in data/system integrations). - Experience designing systems with real-world scale, complexity, and ambiguity. - Strong communicator who collaborates well with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders. - Skilled at mentoring peers through pairing, feedback, and guidance. - Comfortable with tradeoffs and pragmatic about architecture decisions. - Passionate about improving the healthcare experience through thoughtful, human-centered software. ## Bonus points for - Comfort with **Python/Django**. - Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as **HL7/FHIR** and **X12**. - Technical expertise across the data ecosystem (storage, query/ETL orchestration, governance/quality, analytics/visualization, AI/ML pipelines). - Familiarity with data engineering paradigms like **ETL, ELT, Medallion Architecture, and Data Mesh**. - Strong self-starter with initiative. - Familiarity with tools such as **dbt, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, Dagster, SQLAlchemy, Fivetran, Kafka**. - Familiarity with **Kotlin** and **Go**. ## Compensation & benefits - **Salary/Hourly Rate Range:** $195,500 - $247,250 - Bonus and equity eligible - Competitive benefits and wellness package ## What Cedar offers - Opportunity to improve the U.S. healthcare system at a high-growth company. - Flexibility to work from home or in the office (unless otherwise stated). - Unlimited PTO for exempt employees (with encouragement to take at least 20 vacation days/year). - **16 weeks paid parental leave** with health benefits for all parents. - Diversity ini
