## Enterprise Infrastructure Software Data Engineer ### Responsibilities - Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements - Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements; document test results - Apply appropriate software development and software design methodologies for the environment - Provide input to system design components, including the use of **COTS/GOTS** in place of new development - Analyze system performance standards; collaborate with users and/or system engineers - Investigate problem areas by analyzing usage and work processes ### Qualifications **Required (choose one):** - **8 years** of demonstrated Software Engineering experience with a **Bachelor’s** degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related) from an accredited institution - **6 years** of demonstrated Software Engineering experience with a **Master’s** degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related) from an accredited institution - **3 years** of demonstrated Software Engineering experience with a **PhD** (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related) from an accredited institution - **Alternative:** High School Diploma or GED plus **12 years** of Software Engineering experience **Additional requirements:** - **TS/SCI clearance with polygraph** - Experience designing, deploying, and managing **cloud infrastructure** using **OpenStack** and comparable platforms - Strong **Linux** and **Python** background - Understanding of **IT management and operations** **Desired:** - Excellent oral, written, organizational, and communication skills - Broad experience in system engineering disciplines - Software development and **Develop Operations** experience - Experience using **network automation** tools - Familiarity with **cloud security and operations** - **PowerShell** familiarity - Certifications such as **AWS Certified Solutions Architect** or **Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect** (plus) ### Location / Position Details - Full-time position - **1880 hours of support per year** - Work performed at a **customer location** - **Laurel, Maryland** ### Clearance / Eligibility - Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. ### Benefits & Compensation - Target salary range: **$176,000 – $282,000** (typical range; final offer depends on factors including experience, education, location, and contract considerations) - May be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus (depending on position) - Enhanced benefits on a critical National Security program, including heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents - **25 days of PTO** accrued annually (up to a generous cap) - Eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan ### Equal Opportunity - Peraton is an **Equal Opportunity Employer**, including disability and protected veterans, or other characteristics protected by law.
