## Senior Software Engineer — Nexus Server ### Summary As a Senior Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain significant portions of our backend functionality for highly scalable, multi-tenant **Nexus**—our durable execution framework for orchestrating work across team and application boundaries, improving modularity, security, debugging, and fault isolation. You’ll help own key distributed systems components such as **durable execution**, **async processing**, and expanding our ability to invoke workflows through more industry-standard protocols. You’ll work in the highly collaborative **Compute and Artificial Intelligence** org to build a new enterprise offering spanning **on-premise** and **dedicated cloud** options. ### What you’ll do - Design and implement core backend service features for Nexus - Provide appropriate test coverage (unit, integration, and performance) for your feature ownership area - Clearly document design choices and operational knowledge to successfully deploy and run service - Provide service-level logs and metrics to support cloud service operations - Create/maintain alerts, dashboards, and runbooks for production ### What you won’t do - Work in an office (Temporal is fully remote) - Ship poorly-tested code or code that only works “most of the time” - Work behind closed doors (SDKs are open source; PRs/comments are public) - Sit in meetings all day (communication is mostly written; meetings are for status updates and thorny issues) ### What you’ll bring - At least **6 years** of experience in production environments as an **“Arranger”** and/or **“Builder/Enhancer”** of highly scalable distributed systems - Solid computer science fundamentals in distributed systems (multi-threading, concurrency) - **2+ years** experience developing customer-facing APIs and frameworks - Experience writing concurrent code in production using **Go, Java**, or other applicable languages (high end of Intermediate / Advanced / Expert) ### Equal Opportunity Temporal Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing access, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities.
