**Software Engineer, Web3 Backend** **About the Role** Build and own backend services, infrastructure, and data systems supporting Robinhood's next-generation crypto, web3, and wallet offerings. Develop innovative solutions for best-in-class trading experiences while solving complex scalability and correctness challenges in systems that move real customer assets continuously. **What You'll Do** • Design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services and infrastructure across Robinhood Wallet, Tokenization, and Web3 platform systems • Build connective tissue between traditional market infrastructure and on-chain systems, including smart contract integrations and DEX trade flows • Develop product-facing features meeting strict correctness and scalability standards • Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction • Collaborate with product, compliance, and platform teams to deliver impactful technical solutions **What You Bring** • 2+ years of software development experience • Backend development expertise in Go, Python, or Java with cloud-native architecture knowledge • Strong system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals • Care for correctness-critical systems (idempotency, reconciliation, failure mode analysis) • Strong ownership mindset with track record of delivering high-quality projects end-to-end • Ability to simplify complex problems and drive stakeholder alignment • Interest in blockchain fundamentals or strong appetite to learn quickly **Locations** Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY (3+ days/week in-office) **Compensation** • Zone 1 (Menlo Park, NYC, Bellevue, DC): $166,000–$195,000 USD • Zone 2 (Denver, Westlake, Chicago): $147,000–$172,000 USD • Zone 3 (Lake Mary, Clearwater, Gainesville): $130,000–$152,000 USD • Plus: Bonus, equity, 401(k) matching, comprehensive benefits, flexible wellness spending
