## Senior Infrastructure Engineer — Government Systems Chainalysis is seeking a **Senior Infrastructure Engineer** to lead technical efforts on the **Government Systems** team. This team is responsible for the **deployment platform and operational infrastructure** that delivers **Chainalysis Reactor** to government and high-security customers—especially in environments with **strict access controls** and **limited connectivity**. ### What you’ll do - Lead the design and evolution of **RKE2 Kubernetes clusters** across development, acceptance, and production. - Drive **upgrades, capacity planning, networking strategy, and operational resilience**. - Architect and maintain **Infrastructure as Code** using **Terraform** for AWS-based environments. - Own the **CI/CD platform** end-to-end using **GitHub Actions** (pipeline architecture, build performance, staged releases). - Drive **GitOps-based delivery** with **Flux CD**, defining standards for **Helm charts** and **Kustomize overlays**. - Define **container image lifecycle policies** (build, sign, store, and distribute images across OCI registries). - Identify and eliminate operational toil through automation (provisioning, configuration management, deployment processes). - Establish and maintain **monitoring, alerting, and incident response** practices (dashboards, runbooks, post-incident reviews). - Serve as a technical point of contact for product teams integrating into the deployment pipeline. - Own the **security posture** of the deployment platform (secrets, certificates, RBAC, security configurations). - Mentor and grow engineers through code review, pairing, design discussions, and knowledge sharing. ### What we’re looking for - Deep experience operating **Kubernetes in production at scale** (cluster lifecycle, Helm, networking, storage, performance tuning, troubleshooting). - Expert proficiency with **Terraform** (module design, state management strategies, multi-environment provisioning). - Strong **Linux systems administration** skills (RHEL or similar; networking, storage, systemd, performance analysis, shell scripting). - Extensive experience designing and maintaining **CI/CD pipelines** (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) with a focus on reliability and speed. - Deep familiarity with **AWS** infrastructure services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, EBS, Lambda, and related security/networking). - Strong operational mindset: proactively think about failure modes and build automation to prevent recurring issues. ### Nice to have - Experience with **GitOps tools** like **Flux CD** or **Argo CD** in complex multi-environment setups (promotion strategies, drift management). - Familiarity with **container registry operations**, OCI artifact management, and image signing/verification. - Experience managing **databases in Kubernetes** (e.g., PostgreSQL operators, backup/recovery). - Familiarity with **Kafka** or other message brokers in containerized environments. - Experience with **configuration management/automation** tools (e.g., Ansible) at fleet scale. - Advanced **Python** scripting for infrastructure automation and tooling. - Experience supporting environments with strict security/compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, FIPS, IL). - Exposure to or passion for the **cryptocurrency technology ecosystem**. ### Technologies you’ll work with - **Kubernetes:** RKE2, Helm, Kustomize, Flux CD - **AWS:** EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, IAM, Lambda - **Infrastructure as Code:** Terraform - **CI/CD:** Git
