About this role
## About Cerebras Cerebras Systems builds the world’s largest AI chip—56x larger than GPUs—enabling industry-leading training and inference speeds (over 10x faster than GPU-based hyperscale cloud inference services). This performance leap is transforming AI application experiences by unlocking real-time iteration and additional agentic computation. Cerebras works with leading model labs, global enterprises, and AI-native startups. OpenAI recently announced a multi-year partnership with Cerebras to deploy 750 megawatts of scale for ultra high-speed inference. --- ## About The Role We’re seeking a **Software Engineer** to develop and maintain **high-performance, low-latency inference infrastructure**. You’ll deploy and optimize scalable inference services, collaborate cross-functionally, and ensure production-ready machine learning infrastructure. --- ## Responsibilities - Implement infrastructure to support high-performance, low-latency inference services - Deploy and configure **Kubernetes** services for scalability and reliability - Optimize resource allocation and auto-scaling policies to handle variable demand while minimizing operational costs - Integrate inference services using **Docker** and **Kubernetes** orchestration - Ensure high availability and fault tolerance with **multi-region deployments** and **disaster recovery** strategies - Build **Python** scripts and APIs for data preprocessing, inference execution, and post-processing - Collaborate with ML engineers to validate inference accuracy and performance vs. functional and latency requirements - Triage and resolve service defects using logs, metrics, and distributed traces - Debug model deployment, container orchestration, and networking configuration issues; document steps to reproduce and root causes - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address performance regressions, scalability issues, and integration failures - Develop automated scripts to detect and mitigate common failure modes to improve reliability - Author detailed technical documentation for infrastructure configurations, inference workflows, and APIs - Work with product management and UX teams to define inference service interface requirements (configuration, monitoring, event logging) - Track defects, enhancements, and release notes using tools like **Jira** and **Git** - Participate in release planning and prioritization discussions aligned to customer needs and business objectives --- ## Skills & Qualifications ### Minimum Requirements - **Master’s degree** (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field - **1 year** of experience as a Software Developer / Student-Intern (Software Developer) / Member of Technical Staff (Software Engineer) / Software Engineer / or related occupation - Employer accepts full-time or equivalent part-time experience gained before, during, or after graduate studies ### Required Skills - **Docker** and **Kubernetes** - **Java** or **C++** - **ActiveMQ** and **Kafka** - **Python** or **Groovy** - **JavaScript** or **TypeScript** - **Linux** - **SQL**, **OracleDB**, and **Redis** - **Git** --- ## Why Join Cerebras People who are serious about software make their own hardware. At Cerebras, you’ll help build a breakthrough AI platform beyond GPU constraints, publish and open-source cutting-edge AI research, and work on one of the fastest AI supercomputers in the world. Cerebras also emphasizes startup vitality with job stability and a simple, non-cor
