## Sr. Technical Staff — Cerebras Systems Cerebras Systems builds the world’s largest AI chip—56× larger than GPUs—enabling industry-leading training and inference speeds (10× faster than GPU-based hyperscale cloud inference). Cerebras works with leading model labs, global enterprises, and AI-native startups, including a recent multi-year partnership with OpenAI to deploy 750MW of scale. ### About the Role We’re seeking a **Sr. Technical Staff** to support **post-silicon validation** of **Cerebras Wafer Scale Engines**. You will test and debug new silicon, develop automation and debug tools, support wafer bring-up and manufacturing operations, and collaborate across hardware and software teams to ensure high-quality system performance. ### Responsibilities - Perform **post-silicon validation** of Cerebras Wafer Scale Engines. - Test and debug issues on new silicon. - Test, analyze, and characterize **high-speed serial interfaces** to verify compliance with hardware specs; record performance data and recommend design modifications. - Work with the silicon and operations team to test, bring up, and run **burn-in** on wafer-scale systems. - Support manufacturing operations using the wafer bring-up flow: perform wafer bring-ups, diagnose, and debug problems. - Develop and implement hardware to ensure compliance with design specifications. - Collaborate with hardware design engineers and system software engineers to review specifications and recommend changes to improve quality and verifiability. - Create and maintain **automated regression test scripts** (Python and/or Bash) to ensure tests run and pass after changes. - Diagnose system-related failures; understand key system interfaces (FPGAs, power, cooling) and apply that knowledge to debug silicon features. - Develop **debug tools** in Python to program and analyze Wafer Scale Engine behavior. - Develop wafer bring-up flow using Python and shell scripts to capture steps in a logical, easy-to-use workflow. - Document issues found, tools, and flow. ### Skills & Qualifications **Minimum Requirements** - Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. - 3+ years of experience as an Application Engineer, Sr. Technical Staff, Hardware Engineer, or related occupation. **Required Skills** - Electrical Signal Integrity Analysis - Hardware Bring-up & Debug - Functional and Electrical Characterization - Test automation using scripting languages - High-Speed Interfaces & Protocols (e.g., Ethernet, CPRI, Interlaken) ### Why Join Cerebras - Build a breakthrough AI platform beyond GPU constraints - Publish and open source cutting-edge AI research - Work on one of the fastest AI supercomputers in the world - Job stability with startup vitality - A simple, non-corporate culture that respects individual beliefs Learn more: https://www.cerebras.ai/join-us Equal Opportunity Employer.
