You’ll help develop software that enables the Waymo Driver to: - Perceive the world around it - Make the right decision for every situation - Deliver people safely to their destinations ## Internship Overview Waymo interns partner with industry leaders on projects that create impact. We believe learning is a two-way street—applying your knowledge while expanding your skill set. Interns are an important part of our culture and recruiting pipeline. ## You will - **Experiment with novel simulation technology**: analyze performance, identify gaps, document findings, and propose improvements with stakeholders. - **Develop simulator functionality** with a clean, simple API. ## You have - Progressing toward a **Master’s or PhD** in Computer Science or a related technical field - **C++, Python, SQL** - Experience with **evaluation** and **API design** ## We prefer - Previous internship experience - Hands-on experimentation with autonomous simulation platforms - Experience with large-scale distributed computing systems, data processing pipelines, or high-performance rendering engines - Demonstrated ability to navigate technical ambiguity, formulate sound scientific hypotheses, and drive exploratory research to measurable impact ## Location & Application Notes - **Hybrid onsite** internship position - Resumes accepted on a **rolling basis** until the role is filled - To be considered for multiple roles, apply to each one individually (please apply to the **top 3 roles** you’re interested in) ## Pay (Hourly) - **Hourly Masters Pay:** **$70–$70 USD** - **Hourly PhD Pay:** **$85–$85 USD** Interns may also be eligible for the Company’s benefits programs, subject to eligibility requirements.
