**Senior AI Systems Engineer - Advanced Concepts** **About the Role** At BETA Technologies, we're revolutionizing electric aviation. As a Senior AI Systems Engineer on the Advanced Systems team, you'll architect and guide AI-enabled engineering systems that accelerate advanced aircraft development from concept through flight test. **Key Responsibilities** • Define architecture and technical roadmap for AI-enabled engineering and program decision-support systems • Translate requirements, design, analysis, test, and program workflows into AI capabilities • Architect agents, retrieval, model services, APIs, data pipelines, evaluation, observability, and deployment infrastructure • Integrate controlled engineering data and tools while preserving access control and auditability • Establish evaluation and verification methods for accuracy, grounding, robustness, and cost • Develop AI capabilities that synthesize technical evidence, identify risks, and improve decision-making • Coordinate with domain engineers, AI/ML teams, and stakeholders; run technical reviews • Deploy and sustain reusable capabilities; monitor performance and manage incidents **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, ML, systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field • 5+ years delivering AI/ML/data/software systems into production with architecture ownership • Experience integrating models, agents, retrieval, APIs, data pipelines, and enterprise data sources • Strong Python or equivalent language skills; cloud deployment, containers, testing, source control experience • Experience defining model evaluation, access control, data provenance, and security practices • Ability to explain technical limitations and risks to leadership • Must be a US Person **Nice to Have** • AI/digital-engineering experience in aerospace or safety-critical environments • Experience with requirements, CAD, CAE, test, or engineering knowledge systems • Multi-agent systems, RAG, model evaluation, or engineering decision support experience **Location & Work** Onsite in South Burlington, VT or Raleigh, NC.
