**Engineering Manager, Data** **About Cartesia** Pioneering AI model architectures that learn from and interact with the world like humans. Backed by Index Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and 90+ industry experts. **The Role** Lead Cartesia's Data team owning systems, datasets, and research for exceptional training data. Manage 6-8 engineers and researchers across: - **Data Infrastructure** - Web-scale processing and storage for petabytes of multimodal data - **Pre-training Datasets** - Multimodal annotation models and data curation strategies - **Data-centric Modeling** - Training models to understand data quality and improve datasets **Your Impact** - Lead and grow a high-caliber data team across infrastructure and modeling - Set technical direction for multimodal data processing at web scale - Drive SOTA pre-training dataset creation - Establish empirical approaches to data quality - Partner with modeling and research teams - Hire, mentor, and develop talent as team scales to ~12 people **What You Bring** - Proven management experience leading a data team of 6+ people - Hands-on familiarity with large-scale data infrastructure - Track record building data efforts for modeling projects **Nice-to-Haves** - Previous modeling experience - Experience with generative modeling organizations - Familiarity with multimodal data (audio, speech, etc.) **Details** 📍 In-person: San Francisco, London, or Bangalore 🌍 Visa sponsorship available (case-by-case) ⚡ Fast-shipping, high-bar culture **Benefits (US)** Competitive salary + equity, full health coverage, 9-12 weeks parental leave, 401(k), commuter allowance, flexible PTO, daily meals & snacks *Equal opportunity employer*
