**Embedded Software Engineer | Airborne Software** **About the Role** At BETA Technologies, we're revolutionizing electric aviation. As an Embedded Software Engineer for Airborne Software, you'll apply your expertise in RTCA DO-178C, real-time safety-critical embedded software development, and embedded C to specify, architect, design, implement, and integrate airborne systems software. **Key Responsibilities** • Analyze system requirements for correctness and feasibility from an embedded software perspective • Develop software high-level requirements for airborne software functionality • Architect and design embedded software considering hardware constraints and available resources • Develop embedded software in C and Assembly for ARM microcontroller targets • Integrate software with other systems and target hardware • Assess, measure, troubleshoot, and resolve software execution issues • Perform peer reviews of team contributions • Collaborate with verification teams on testing and analysis **Minimum Qualifications** • BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field • 3+ years of real-time embedded software development experience • Requirements engineering and software architecture/design experience • Proficiency with C programming language • Knowledge of Texas Instruments Hercules and/or STM ARM microcontrollers • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation • Experience with electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.) • Knowledge of DO-178C compliance activities • Strong team communication and collaboration skills **Preferred Qualifications** • Experience with Cortex-R5F ARM, C2000, or Infineon TriCore microcontrollers • Lauterbach TRACE32 debug/instruction trace system experience • Embedded tool chain experience (compilers, linkers) • Polarion ALM life cycle data management system experience • Experience with motor control, battery management, or flight control systems • Knowledge of SPI, I2C, CAN, ARINC 429, Ethernet, and sensor interfaces • Familiarity with RTCA DO-330 and DO-331 standards **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 $115,000 – $135,000 USD **What We Offer** • Restricted and Performance Stock Units for all full-time team members • Onsite healthcare in Vermont with comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage • Short- and long-term disability and paid parental leave • Daily lunch provided • Flight lessons and additional perks **Equal Opportunity** We encourage all driven candidates to apply, even if you don't meet every qualification.
