**AI / ML Engineer – Advanced Concepts** **About the Role** BETA Technologies is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to build and operate agent, retrieval, data-pipeline, and deployment infrastructure supporting aircraft development. You'll create methods and reusable capabilities for Advanced Systems teams while working in a mission-driven environment focused on revolutionizing electric aviation. **Location** Onsite in South Burlington, VT or Raleigh, NC. Hybrid arrangements with monthly in-person visits may be considered for remote candidates. **Key Responsibilities** • Implement orchestration, tool calls, grounding, permissions, observability, and automated evaluation workflows • Coordinate with Lead Applied AI, Digital Engineering, Program, BETA OS, and IT/Cybersecurity teams • Produce and maintain working agents, integrations, and operations dashboards • Support leadership by reducing decision latency while maintaining data integrity • Document assumptions, interfaces, decisions, and risks in engineering records • Communicate status and recommendations in technical and program reviews **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field • 3+ years of relevant engineering or complex-product experience • Experience with requirements, interfaces, architecture, and multidisciplinary integration • Knowledge of aircraft development, safety, and configuration control practices • Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills • US Person status required **Preferred Qualifications** • Applied AI, optimization, or agent experience in regulated/safety-critical environments • API integration and controlled data pipeline experience • Model evaluation, observability, security, or human-in-the-loop workflow experience **Compensation & Benefits** $120,000 – $145,000 USD Comprehensive package includes RSUs, PSUs, onsite healthcare, medical/dental/vision, disability coverage, parental leave, daily lunch, and flight lessons. **Physical Demands** Regular office, laboratory, and hangar work; standing, walking, and hands-on hardware tasks; occasional travel and PPE use. *BETA is an equal opportunity employer.
