## Senior Software Engineer ### About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer at **Catena**, you’ll be a core contributor to building new ways for humans and AI agents to interact with financial systems. You’ll help develop and iterate on the core platform—including the **Agent Commerce Kit (ACK)**—by building **applications, APIs, and SDKs** that enable **secure, reliable global commerce** for an agent-driven economy. ### What You’ll Do - **Build Agent Interaction Layers:** Develop robust applications, APIs, and SDKs for secure communication, collaboration, and transactions between AI agents and users. - **Develop Core Product Experiences:** Build efficient systems for **cryptographic identity management**, **payment workflows**, and **transaction processing** within the ACK framework. - **Engineer Agent-Native Financial Systems:** Design and implement end-to-end user experiences tailored for AI agents, ensuring secure and reliable financial interactions. - **Create Identity and Reputation Tools:** Engineer systems that help agents establish digital identities, discover peers, and manage reputations. - **Contribute to Scalable Infrastructure:** Build performant backend services and scalable APIs for rapid, secure coordination among decentralized AI agents. ### What You’ll Bring - **6+ years** of full stack engineering experience, with strong backend architecture and experience delivering user-facing products. - A track record of shipping **complex, production-quality** products from concept to production. - Commitment to building **performant, reliable, and secure** systems with polished, intuitive user experiences. - Comfort working in **ambiguous environments**, independently designing and implementing solutions. - Curiosity about emerging technologies such as **AI agents**, **stablecoins**, and **programmable identity**—with initiative to learn and apply them. - Ability to effectively leverage **AI tools** to increase productivity and streamline development. ### Nice to Have - Hands-on experience building AI-driven solutions or integrating with modern AI toolkits. - Experience in **fintech, payments, or blockchain** development. - Proficiency with the tech stack (e.g., **Python, TypeScript, Go, React**). - Contributions to relevant **open-source** projects. ### Join Us If you’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of what AI agents can do in financial services, and want to help build trusted financial infrastructure for the agentic economy, we’d love to hear from you.
