We were incubated inside Founders Fund and are backed by over a dozen top venture capital firms. **About this role** As a General Matter **Information Technology Intern**, you’ll support IT systems, infrastructure, and end-user services in a highly regulated, mission-critical environment. You’ll work with experienced IT and security staff on real projects across systems administration, network support, endpoint management, and IT compliance. You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering and science. **Responsibilities** - Assist with day-to-day IT support: hardware/software troubleshooting, account provisioning, and helpdesk ticket resolution - Support administration and maintenance of endpoints, servers, and network infrastructure (patching, backups, asset tracking) - Help implement and validate IT security controls (e.g., MFA, endpoint protection, access management) - Support user access reviews, system health checks, and IT policy compliance activities - Contribute to internal documentation (setup guides, runbooks, IT knowledge base articles) - Assist with onboarding/offboarding workflows, equipment deployment, and office technology support - Participate in IT projects such as software rollouts, systems migrations, and process automation - Support audit and compliance readiness by organizing documentation and assisting with internal IT reviews **Basic qualifications** - Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field - Foundational understanding of computer systems, networking, and IT operations - Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies - Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail - Collaborative team member who thrives in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments **Preferred skills and experience** - Familiarity with IT service management tools, ticketing systems, or asset management platforms - Exposure to scripting/automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell) - Coursework or project experience with systems administration, networking, or cloud platforms - Familiarity with basic security principles (authentication, access control, endpoint protection) **Additional requirements** - Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary **Equal Opportunity Employer** General Matter is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
