The Elastic Search AI Platform is used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, combining search precision with AI intelligence. ### Role Overview We’re seeking a **hands-on Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer** to join our **IT Software Engineering** team (reporting to the Director, IT Software Engineering). This **100% individual contributor (IC)** role focuses on leading the technical design, development, and deployment of **full-stack internal web applications** and **conversational AI bots**. You’ll write clean **React** and **Node.js** code, integrate backend services with **Elasticsearch**, and take **operational ownership** of production systems. ### What You’ll Do - **Build enterprise applications:** Write clean, maintainable code across **React, TypeScript, and Node.js** to replace legacy SaaS tools. - **Develop AI bots & workflows:** Architect and deploy internal bots using **LLMs**, **RAG**, and **vector search** to automate employee workflows and support requests. - **Build on the Elastic Stack:** Connect internal apps directly to **Elasticsearch** and **Kibana**, creating real-world reference architectures. - **Accelerate delivery with AI tools:** Use **Cursor, Claude, Copilot** to write code faster, generate tests, and increase feature velocity. - **Maintain code quality & operations:** Write unit and end-to-end tests, run **CI/CD** pipelines, use **feature flags**, and participate in **on-call** rotations. ### What You Bring - **8+ years** of hands-on full-stack development experience shipping production web applications with **React, TypeScript, and Node.js** - **Hands-on Elasticsearch** experience (data modeling, indexing, query optimization, Kibana dashboard integration) - **Practical AI/bot engineering** experience (LLM APIs, vector search, RAG pipelines, or conversational bot frameworks) - Daily proficiency with **AI coding tools** (Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot) - Operational/testing maturity: **React Testing Library**, **Cypress/Playwright**, **CI/CD**, **feature flags**, and **on-call** experience ### Bonus Points - Experience with internal developer portals, **FinOps/cost governance**, or enterprise ticketing/automation workflows - Exposure to advanced Elastic capabilities (e.g., **ELSER semantic search**, **hybrid vector search**, **Elastic ML**) - Experience replacing legacy platforms (e.g., **ServiceNow, Jira, custom SaaS portals**) with custom solutions - Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field - Strong communication/problem-solving skills translating business requirements into technical agent architectures - Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment ### Compensation (Base Salary) - **Typical starting range:** **$133,100 — $210,600 USD** - **Select locations range:** **$159,900 — $252,900 USD** ### Additional Information Elastic is committed to an inclusive culture and equal opportunity employment.
