**SpaceX — Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer (Starshield)** SpaceX is developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. Starshield is the world’s largest US government satellite constellation, providing immediate access to critical intelligence and national security data for the US government anywhere on the globe. You’ll help develop and continually test the cyber defenses of the Starshield network. This is a hands-on role requiring breadth of experience across both software and security. **Responsibilities** - Be prepared for immediate response to active threats against our systems. - Implement Starshield’s cyber defense strategy: assess the cyber threat landscape, develop countermeasures, and run ongoing “red-team” style exercises to discover vulnerabilities and practice attack response tactics. - Participate in vulnerability discovery: run internal bug hunts, foster a culture of continual curiosity and open-ended exploration, and use the latest tools (including AI) to accelerate discovery and fixing. - Improve incident discovery and response by collaborating with teams building internal systems used to detect security events. - Work across teams to deliver results, including engineers implementing security features and teams developing internal incident discovery tools. **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer security, or a related field **and** 5+ years of professional cybersecurity experience for active production systems; **or** 7+ years of cybersecurity experience for active production systems. - Experience implementing systems for adversary detection and incident response.
