In interviews, they emphasize how you think and explain your approach, including how you collaborate with AI. ### Team / Org The **Notifications & Growth Platform** org builds the systems that power **user communication** and **product-led growth** across Pinterest. These platforms help product teams reach users with the right message at the right time across channels (e.g., **push, email, in-app**)—**safely and at scale**. This role is the **technical lead** for the org: setting strategy, raising the engineering bar, and ensuring platforms are **secure, reliable, and easy for partner teams to adopt**. --- ### What you’ll do - **Shape technical vision & roadmap** for Notifications & Growth Platform, aligning architecture and execution with Pinterest engagement and retention goals. - **Lead cross-functional delivery** of end-to-end solutions with Product, Data Science, Design, and engineering—shipping notifications, in-app growth experiences, and **i18n** experiences for global markets. - Make **durable architectural decisions** to improve delivery quality, reliability, and scalability (e.g., orchestration, targeting hooks, scheduling, multi-channel delivery). - Define **success metrics** and an operating cadence (e.g., engagement lift, delivery success, latency, reliability, cost, adoption) and drive measurable improvements aligned to org OKRs. - Use **AI to accelerate** exploration, drafting, analysis, and synthesis—while maintaining strong judgment, rigorous validation, and accountability for outcomes. --- ### What we’re looking for - **10+ years** of software engineering experience, including meaningful time as a **Staff/Senior Staff (or equivalent)** building and operating complex production systems. - **AI expectations**: - Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day workflow for relevant outputs. - Strong track record of **critical evaluation and verification** of AI-assisted work (testing, source-checking, data validation, peer review). - High integrity and ownership: protect sensitive data, avoid over-reliance on AI, and remain accountable for final decisions and deliverables. - Example: *Demonstrated experience using AI to accelerate customer/data analysis, with a clear approach to validating accuracy and quality.* - **Proven technical leadership**: driving architecture across multiple services/teams and delivering org-critical initiatives. - **Excellent communication** and ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Notifications & growth platform experience is a **plus**. - Ability to dive into data and identify opportunities to drive user growth is a **plus**. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience. --- ### Relocation - This position is **not eligible for relocation assistance**. ### In-Office Requirement - In-person collaboration **1–2 times every 6 months**. - Role can be situated **anywhere in the country**. ### Tags - #LI-HYBRID - #LI-KK6 --- ### Pay Transparenc
