## Mid-level Full Stack Software Engineer - SATCOM ### About the Role Peraton is delivering advanced mission planning, digital engineering, and command-and-control capabilities supporting the U.S. Government’s space communications enterprise. Our team uses modern MBSE practices to translate mission needs into precise, traceable, and verifiable technical requirements across a complex, multi-system environment. As a **Mid-level Full Stack Software Engineer - SATCOM**, you will support the design and development of platform services that enable **secure, scalable, and reliable satellite ground communications and data-transport capabilities**. You’ll contribute to both **frontend and backend** components, participate in technical discussions, and help ensure software solutions align with system requirements and program objectives. ### What You’ll Do - Develop **backend services in Python**, including APIs, automation logic, and service-level components - Build and maintain **PostgreSQL** database structures (SQL queries, triggers, stored functions) - Implement **microservices** and security mechanisms including **OAuth 2.0** and **JWT** - Contribute to **frontend development** using **TypeScript** and modern component-based web frameworks - Participate in **Agile** development (sprint planning, code reviews, iterative delivery) - Investigate and resolve **production issues** using structured troubleshooting - Use **Git-based version control** and collaborate on code review processes - Support containerized deployments using **Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm** ### Required Qualifications - Associate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field **+ 7+ years** relevant experience; **or** - Bachelor’s degree in a related field **+ 5+ years** relevant experience; **or** - Master’s degree in a related field **+ 3+ years** relevant experience - An additional **4 years** of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree - **Top-Secret clearance** minimum, with ability to upgrade to **TS/SCI**; must maintain clearance - Proficient in **Python** for backend applications - Experience with **PostgreSQL** design/development (SQL, triggers, stored functions) - Experience with **microservice architecture** and security mechanisms (**OAuth 2.0**, **JWT**) - Experience supporting **frontend** development using **TypeScript** and modern UI frameworks - Experience with **GitHub or GitLab** (or similar Git-based source control) - Understanding of **Agile Scrum** methodologies and software development practices - Working knowledge of **Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm** - Working knowledge of **message-driven/event-driven** software concepts - Working knowledge of **RBAC** and **ABAC** access-control techniques ### Desired Qualifications - Experience investigating and resolving issues in production/operational environments - Experience contributing to integration activities with customers or partners - Experience collaborating with **MBSE** or test engineering teams - Ability to learn new tools/technologies/frameworks to support evolving project needs ### Clearance Note This position requires a **minimum Top-Secret clearance** with ability to upgrade to **TS/SCI**, and the candidate must maintain the clearance.
