About this role
**Network Engineer** ICON builds Titan, a multi-story robotic construction printer. We're looking for a network engineer to own the site network environment: design it, harden it, and run it like critical infrastructure. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** • Own the site network: switches, routers, cabling, and uplink for mixed industrial controls, robotics telemetry, and IT traffic • Design and maintain segmentation between OT/robotics and IT traffic to keep machine control isolated and protected • Build reliable remote-access infrastructure for distributed engineering teams with low-latency control and cellular/5G failover • Stand up proactive monitoring and alerting to catch issues before they interrupt tests • Work directly with robotics, controls, and embedded software engineers to understand network requirements • Document network topology, failure modes, and recovery procedures • Own network architecture decisions as the print suite scales **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** • 5+ years in network engineering with real experience in industrial, manufacturing, or lab/test environments • Hands-on expertise with routing, switching, VPN technologies (mesh/overlay VPNs like Tailscale), and network segmentation (VLANs, firewalls) • Strong troubleshooting fundamentals across DNS, DHCP, and connectivity with composure under pressure • Experience supporting OT/IT converged environments: PLCs, industrial controllers, or robotics traffic • Reliability-first design mindset: redundancy, failover, and monitoring built in from the start • Strong documentation habits **PREFERRED SKILLS:** • Experience supporting distributed or international engineering teams with remote hardware access • Familiarity with cellular/5G failover setups • Background in construction tech, robotics, or additive manufacturing • Comfort working alongside active hardware testing
