## Engineering Leader — Infrastructure & Platform ### About the Role At Candid Health, we’re seeking an experienced **Engineering Leader** to support and enable our core **Platform and Infrastructure** teams. You’ll help plan, execute, and deliver the Candid platform for healthcare provider customers who rely on it for mission-critical financial and operational workflows. You’ll report to the **Head of Engineering** and work closely with **Founders and Leadership**. Your scope includes **scalability, reliability, application performance, data pipelines, developer experience, load testing, and AI tooling strategy**. Initially, you’ll manage at least **three distinct teams**: 1. **Production Infrastructure**: compute, networking, observability, data storage, and auth infrastructure 2. **Developer Infrastructure**: internal tooling, dev productivity, AI tooling, testing infrastructure, languages + libraries, and CI/CD systems 3. **Data Engineering**: data streaming, eventing and pub/sub infrastructure, data warehouse, and data reporting infrastructure ### What You’ll Do - **Steward outcomes**: balance competing needs and manage tradeoffs across platform priorities and customer impact. - **Oversee implementation**: support teams in executing the technical vision; scope projects, review plans, and drive best practices across organizations. - **Lead technical teams**: guide planning, delivery, and collaboration; influence technical leads and individual contributors. - **Mentor and grow people**: define growth pathways through performance management and opportunities to take on more scope. - **Define technical strategy**: partner with product and company leadership to design systems, architecture, and processes aligned to short- and long-term objectives. ### Responsibilities - Own engineering practice by building and maintaining critical services and features. - Lead teams in planning, prioritization, and tracking to deliver impactful results. - Support high technical quality, reliability, and developer satisfaction. - Identify obstacles to delivery and reduce friction and redundancies. - Make data-driven decisions to improve reliability, performance, scale, and reduce operational load. - Dive deep into software architecture to achieve business objectives. - Recruit exceptional engineers and managers with Talent Acquisition. - Mentor and coach direct reports and peers to build healthy, high-performing teams. ### Qualifications - **B.S. or B.A.** in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or a related field. - **6+ years** in a Software Engineering Leadership role (Senior Manager, Manager of Managers, or similar). - Experience managing and developing **Engineering Managers**. - Proven track record leading teams building **scalable, reliable distributed systems** (including Data and Infrastructure). - Strong technical decision-making and architecture/pattern judgment. - Ability to manage in multiple directions (lateral and upward): advocate, delegate, and know when to get into the details. - Experience interviewing, hiring, and mentoring high-performing engineering teams. - Clear, concise communication—able to explain complex ideas simply. - Based in (or willing to relocate to) **Denver, CO** or **San Francisco, CA**. ### Pay Transparency Estimated starting **annual base salary range**: **$225,000–$322,000 USD**.
