Fully remote and global, Camunda is transforming into an **AI-first organization**, built on its own platform. --- **About the Role** Camunda is looking for a **Senior Software Engineer** to join the **Engineering Operations** team. In this high-impact role, you’ll create, implement, and maintain **scalable core engineering processes** across the **Camunda 8** code bases and engineering-wide organization processes. As Camunda 8 evolves as a leader in agentic orchestration, your mission is to ensure the internal development lifecycle becomes **autonomous and frictionless**. You’ll partner with infrastructure and core software engineering teams to enable smooth workflows, robust dependency management, and continuous improvement of CI processes for **AI-first development**—so engineering teams can focus on core product development. --- **What You’ll Be Doing** - **AI-Augmented Engineering:** Lead the shift to an automated engineering lifecycle by implementing and orchestrating unified processes across Camunda 8 repositories (including AI-assisted release management, autonomous dependency updates, and proactive CVE remediation). - **Optimize CI/Release Health & Velocity:** Use a metric-driven approach to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in AI-first workflows. - **CI Strategy & Best Practices:** Collaborate with stakeholders to implement CI strategy and engineering best practices, driving measurable impact across the engineering organization. - **Automate Engineering Friction Points:** Identify workflow friction and evolve it into automated, self-sustaining systems that can handle increased volume from an AI-augmented workforce. --- **What You Bring** **Must Haves** - Strong **software engineering** experience with a track record of delivering results (preferably **Java**) - Specialization in **Fullstack** or **Backend** - Passion for engineering operational excellence beyond writing code (CI/CD optimization, dependency management, release process improvements, metrics collection, build efficiency) - Strong experience with **CI build tools** (e.g., **GitHub Actions**, Java ecosystem like **Maven**, **Docker**) and automations (**Shell/Python**) in complex projects (e.g., **monorepos**) - Strong collaboration skills in a **platform-like environment** - Experience with **developer experience (DevEx)** tools and process optimization, including driving **AI adoption** - Comfortable with **“you build it, you run it”** and taking ownership of codebase, deployment, and operations **Nice to Haves** - Experience designing efficient cross-team operations - Practical experience with **Camunda** or other **BPMN** systems --- **Location / Work Model** - **Fully remote** --- **Compensation & Benefits (Summary)** - **Competitive, transparent compensation** with annual total cash ranges (base + 100% variable where applicable): - **United States:** $143,800.00 – $231,900.00 - **United Kingdom:** £90,300.00 – £148,500.00 - **Singapore:** S$178,600.00 – S$267,900.00 - **Equity** via Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP) where applicable - **Remote & flexible** work, home office support, flexible time off - **In-person connectio
