Camunda is **fully remote and global** and is transforming into an **AI-first organization**, built on its own platform. ### About the role Camunda is hiring a **Senior Software Engineer, Quality** to build the **agentic layer** of how Camunda tests its software. Quality is treated as an **engineering discipline**: you’ll build test infrastructure with real design decisions, trade-offs, and ownership. The team is moving from **hand-written test suites** toward **agents** that can **design, generate, maintain, and triage tests** across the lifecycle. You’ll also help shape Camunda’s **Quality AI strategy**, supporting product teams that ship features **without dedicated QA**—by building the tooling and practices that let builders own quality themselves. ### What you’ll be doing - Build and operate **agents across the testing lifecycle** (test design, generation, maintenance, execution, and failure triage) - Own the infrastructure that makes **agent-driven testing reliable** (environments, test data, tool interfaces, guardrails, runtime, and cost control) - Define how to **measure agent output quality** so teams can trust results - Apply evaluation practice to testing **Camunda 8’s AI capabilities** (including non-deterministic features) - Work hands-on with new features to keep the tooling honest - Raise teams’ quality capability through **patterns, tooling, and enablement** ### What you bring - **5+ years** as a software engineer; you write production code daily and are credible on a product team - Production experience building **test infrastructure, developer tooling, or internal platforms** other engineers depend on - Hands-on experience with **LLMs or agent frameworks** (prompt/context design, tool use, non-determinism, evaluating output quality) - Comfort with **distributed systems and CI at scale** (Camunda 8 is a process orchestration platform) - Ability to drive adoption in teams that don’t report to you ### Nice-to-haves - Experience evaluating or benchmarking LLM systems - Open-source contribution experience - Java, TypeScript, or Python; Kubernetes and Helm - Background in developer tooling or platform engineering ### Location / work model - **Fully remote** (role listed as **#LI-Remote**) - Job reference: **#LI-AG1** - US/East Coast indicated in listing: **#USEAST** ### Compensation & benefits (highlights) **Competitive, fair, and transparent compensation** with location-based salary ranges: - **United States:** $143,800.00 – $231,900.00 - **United Kingdom:** £90,300.00 – £148,500.00 - **Singapore:** S$178,600.00 – S$267,900.00 - **Canada:** C$152,700.00 – C$251,200.00 Additional details: - Equity via **VSOP** (where applicable) - Remote & flexible work, home office support, flexible time off - Health & wellbeing benefits (including Modern Health) - Learning budget (up to $/€/£1,000 per year) - Retirement/pension and insurance where relevant ### Application notes / safety - Camunda may use AI tools in screening/interviews. - “Everyone is welcome at Camunda” — equal opportunity employer. - **Scam warning:** Camunda will only contact candidate
