**About OppFi** OppFi is a leading tech-enabled digital finance platform that works with banks to provide financial products and services for everyday Americans—supporting consumers who are turned away by mainstream options to build better financial health. **About the role (Software Engineer I)** As a Software Engineer I, you will help develop applications and services for our product portfolio. You will enhance, improve, develop, and maintain back-end services used across our entire technology platform. **What you get to do** - Contribute to the development of our product portfolio built with **Java, Docker, Amazon Web Services, and PostgreSQL** - Collaborate with business and technical professionals across the organization in an **Agile** framework to ensure technical systems are well-designed - Perform **code reviews**, **unit testing**, assist in **integration testing**, and document/implement software best practices - Continue to learn new tools and languages with internal training (budgets for classes, conferences, books, and materials) **What you will bring to the team** - Experience interpreting and refining technical issues into implementable requirements delivered from concept to production - **At least 1 year** of **Java** (or similar experience) - **1+ years** developing systems with **AWS** technologies (ECS/EKS experience is a plus) - **1+ years** with **Test-driven Development (TDD)** - **1+ years** building **RESTful APIs** and consuming **3rd-party APIs** - **Plus**: Event-driven development and **Domain Driven Design** - **Plus**: **Terraform, CI, Kubernetes, and Docker** - **Preferred**: **Git** experience **Reports to** Manager, Engineering **Compensation & Benefits** - **Compensation range:** $85,600 — $128,400 USD - Flexible/remote environment, **401(k) matching**, generous paid time off - Medical, dental, vision, and tuition reimbursement - Additional benefits include DoorDash DashPass, Figo pet insurance, Rocket Lawyer, LinkedIn Learning, and Fringe (#LI-Remote) **EEO Statement** OppFi is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on legally protected characteristics.
