**Senior Manager, Technology — Engineering (NYSE Test Platform)** **Overview** The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE), is seeking a **full-time, hands-on Senior Manager of Engineering** to lead a core engineering team responsible for the **maintenance and modernization of a web-based test management platform** for exchange testing. This platform underpins **quality assurance for all trading systems at NYSE**. **Key Responsibilities** - Own the **technical roadmap** for consolidating test systems into a unified platform, including: - Centralized test repository - Modern execution engine - Web-based UI for authoring, monitoring, and analysis - Drive architectural decisions across: - **React/TypeScript** frontend - **Java/Python async** backend - **Kafka** event streaming - Integration with existing **C++/Java** execution infrastructure - Define system requirements for **performance, scalability, reliability, and security** (SLAs, throughput, latency targets) - Promote engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices across the team - Own planning and prioritization of the roadmap in **quarterly increments**; track progress against commitments - Use **AI coding assistants** (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent) as part of the daily development workflow **Required Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field - **12+ years** progressive hands-on software engineering experience across multiple technology stacks - **3+ years** in an engineering leadership/management role, with experience leading and growing engineers - **4+ years** building full-stack web applications (React/TypeScript frontend; Python/Java/Node.js backend) - **3+ years** with cloud-native systems (microservices, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, distributed systems) - Strong hands-on background with **TCP/IP, Multicast network protocols, multithreading, and real-time systems** - Expertise building **data-intensive platforms** (databases, real-time streaming, event-driven architectures, message queues) **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience working on development of **Trading Systems Test tools** - Hands-on experience with **C/C++** - Knowledge of **FIX protocol** or other message-based communication protocols - Experience building UIs consuming real-time data streams (WebSocket / SSE / gRPC-Web) - Familiarity with **Kafka** concepts **Location & Compensation (New York)** - **Base salary range:** **$190,000 – $215,000 USD** - Incentive compensation is **not included** in the range - ICE compensates based on skillset and experience **Benefits** Full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive benefits, including: - Healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision) - 401(k) - Life insurance - Time off and paid leave for qualifying circumstances **Equal Opportunity Employer** Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an **Equal Opportunity Employer**.
