**About Affirm** Affirm exists for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most. **Internship Overview** As an intern at Affirm, you’ll be a contributing member of our engineering team—working on meaningful projects and frequently shipping code. Recent interns have built real-time high-throughput data processing pipelines, extensive automated testing frameworks, and parts of our proprietary financial platform. We’re excited to meet strong students for our **12–16 week internships**. Projects are tailored to your skills, and you’ll collaborate with your mentor and manager to define a project that best supports your team. **What You’ll Do** - Ship code and monitor the deployment of your work (your projects are not isolated—your team will depend on your contributions). - Work with a dedicated mentor who provides regular guidance and feedback. - Participate in intern events (past examples include virtual cooking classes, executive fireside chats, trolley tours, and Giants games). - Present your work to the entire engineering organization at the end of the internship. **What We Look For** - Passion and dedication to improving consumer banking - Experience with **Python, C/C++ or Java** - Frontend experience with **WebApps/JavaScript/AngularJS/React** - Strong communication skills - Experience with object-oriented programming - Deployment and testing frameworks - API development/documentation - **AWS** or other PaaS frameworks **Compensation** - USA hourly base pay: **$55.00** - USA monthly base pay: **$9,500** **Remote-first (with flexibility built in)** Affirm is proud to be remote-first. Most roles can be done from almost anywhere within the country of employment. Some positions may occasionally require in-person work at an Affirm office, and a few are office-based.
