As a **Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)**, you’ll be a contributing member of our engineering team—working on meaningful projects and frequently shipping code. Recent interns have built a real-time high-throughput data processing pipeline, developed automated testing frameworks, and supported our proprietary financial platform. ## What You’ll Do - Develop and ship a project, and verify it works in production - Collaborate with your mentor and manager to define a project that best contributes to your team - Ship code and monitor deployments - Work on projects that are not isolated—your team will depend on your contributions - Receive regular feedback from a dedicated mentor - Have opportunities to attend intern events (e.g., virtual cooking classes, executive fireside chats, Giants games) - Present your work to the entire engineering organization at the end of the internship ## What We Look For - Passion and dedication to improving consumer banking - Experience with **Python**, **C/C++**, or **Java** - Frontend experience in **WebApps/JavaScript/AngularJS/React** - Strong communication skills - Experience with **object-oriented programming** - Deployment and testing frameworks - API development/documentation - **AWS** or other **PaaS** frameworks ## Compensation - Set amount for the Intern role (no range) - **USA hourly base pay:** $55.00 - **USA monthly base pay:** $9,500 ## Remote-first (with flexibility) Affirm is **remote-first**. Most roles can be done from almost anywhere within the country of employment. Some positions may occasionally require in-person work at an Affirm office, and a few are office-based.
