Choose where you do your best work (home, office, or your favorite coffee shop) while staying connected through regular in-person events. --- ## Why this role is on the menu The **Data Analyst** position on the **PEO Analytics** team plays a pivotal role in using operational performance data to: - Diagnose fulfillment quality gaps - Detect and resolve quality issues - Deliver data-driven recommendations that improve Instacart’s products and processes You’ll tackle immediate escalations and also build proactive monitoring systems for long-term operational excellence. You’ll also support cross-functional insight needs that drive improvements across multiple areas of the business. The **Platform Excellence Operations (PEO)** team improves the online grocery experience for customers, shoppers, retailers, and the marketplace by analyzing operational data to understand and eliminate defects. Within **Marketplace and Retailer Pillar (PEO Analytics)**, this role focuses on fulfillment quality problems such as **cancellations, reschedules, and timeliness**, helping maintain Instacart’s reputation for reliability and operational excellence. --- ## What you’ll cook up in your first year ### Metrics and Reporting - Proactively monitor and resolve retailer performance issues across broad dimensions using dashboards and processes that simplify diagnosis and support new retailer launches. - Track and analyze performance fluctuations and outliers in key Retailer Quality workstream metrics to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. ### Data Analysis - Analyze large datasets related to Retailer Fulfillment Quality to derive business insights. - Create and execute independent analytical plans to identify, understand, and reduce fulfillment quality issues with high accuracy and consistency. - Support analytics requests, ad hoc retailer analyses, launch impact assessments, and retailer escalations—plus provide initiative sizing for product and analytical roadmaps. ### Presentations and Communication - Create and present insights decks regularly to cross-functional business and technical stakeholders. - Frame findings as clear logical narratives backed by data, resulting in actionable recommendations. --- ## The secret ingredients we’re looking for ### Must-have pantry staples (Minimum Qualifications) - 1+ years of experience in a data analytics-related role (e.g., business intelligence, corporate strategy, consulting, or data science) - Experience analyzing and visualizing large datasets - Advanced proficiency in **SQL** and **Excel or Google Sheets** - Ability to aggregate and synthesize large amounts of data, with strong understanding of micro and macro fulfillment metrics and systems - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail (detect anomalies, form hypotheses, and draw conclusions through nuanced analysis) - Proficiency in **PowerPoint or Google Slides** - Ability to work independently with strong ownership and comfort proposing new ideas to challenge existing processes ### Optional garnishes (Preferred Quali
