About this role
**About the role** This role is on the **Infrastructure Platform team**, where we manage the user interaction with infrastructure system components such as **Terraform**, **ArgoCD**, **AWS resources**, and internal tooling. The Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for the platform, tools, and infrastructure supporting Chime’s customer-serving products. As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll develop tools to create and maintain cloud infrastructure, automate management of complex service-oriented applications, and build frameworks to ensure the stability and scalability of Chime’s platform. **In this role, you can expect to** - Automate everything, including scaling, monitoring, and operations. - Build tools to enable self-service both within the team and across all of Chime engineering. Tooling is written in **Ruby on Rails** and **Go**. - Design, build, and support Chime’s cloud infrastructure using automation and **infrastructure-as-code** (including maintaining Terraform modules). - Develop tools and processes to enable security, scalability, and availability (including managing the Kubernetes Helm chart repo and continuous deployments). - Partner with product development engineers to build services using modern design patterns (e.g., **12 Factor App** methodology). - Build strong relationships with engineers, managers, and colleagues through trust, empathy, and technical expertise. **To thrive in this role, you have** - 2+ years of cloud and Infrastructure experience. - Strong development experience in **Ruby on Rails** and **Go**. - Professional experience in a **DevOps/SRE/ProdEng** role supporting customer-facing web services. - Experience enabling effective partnerships and strong communication across teams. - Experience with containers and container orchestration, including **Kubernetes Helm charts**. - Experience building and managing highly available public cloud infrastructure with a focus on stability, scalability, and security. - Experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools, including maintaining **Terraform modules**. - Experience supporting relational or NoSQL databases, message buses, caching services, and other common service components. - Familiarity with **CI/CD** and testing platforms, with a focus on continuous deployments. - Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms. - A positive, collaborative, customer-focused mindset. - Experience with some of: **AWS**, **Kubernetes**, **ArgoCD**, **Datadog**, **Terraform**. **What we offer (full-time, regular employees)** - **In-office policy:** four days a week in the office and Fridays from home (plus team/company events depending on location). - **Benefits** including backup child/elder/pet care and subsidized commuter benefits (eligible employees). - **Comprehensive health, financial, and wellbeing benefits**. - **Generous vacation** and company-wide paid days off. - **1% of time off** to support local community organizations of your choice. - **Annual wellness stipend**. - **Paid parental leave:** up to 22 weeks (birthing parents) and 12 weeks (non-birthing parents). - **Family planning reimbursement**. - Opportunity to join an experienced team in FinTech and help millions unlock financial progress. **Compensation (base salary range)** - **$133,000 – $184,000 USD** *#LI-Onsite*
