Their global team supports customers with actionable intelligence that helps organizations anticipate and respond to critical matters affecting national security and the economy. **Role Overview** The Senior Security Analyst reports to the Manager of the Security Analysis Team (Security Operations Center / SOC) with rollup to the Director of Security. This role supports continuous monitoring, detection, and defense of the BlackSky enterprise environment against cyber threats. **Location** This role can be based in **Herndon, VA** or **Seattle, WA**, surrounding areas, or **anywhere in the United States**. **Responsibilities** - Perform security monitoring and DFIR activities across corporate, product, and mission environments by reviewing events/alerts tied to **IOCs**, **IOAs**, **CTI reporting**, and non-compliance activities - Review and apply cyber threat intelligence to inform and secure the enterprise - Conduct regular threat hunting across corporate, product, and mission environments - Document procedures to formalize ad-hoc processes - Analyze security data from multiple sources (system/event logs, network traffic, SaaS security tools) - Perform malware analysis and digital forensics using industry-standard sandbox tools - Support continuous monitoring of network, OS, and application log traffic - Support vulnerability management by identifying and prioritizing critical security concerns with IT/Product owners to drive remediation - Partner with product owners to define offensive testing scope requirements and constraints and support remediation - Monitor operational systems for continuous compliance with hardened baselines (e.g., **CIS Benchmarks** and/or **DISA STIGs**) - Develop solutions to automate recurring tasks and improve adversary detection - Complete compliance assessments and report findings to management - Document and share findings (anomalies, incidents, concerns) with security, IT, and product teams - Maintain a strong Linux security background (Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, and/or CentOS preferred) - Support security training and manage tabletop scenarios - Support compliance requirements including **SOX/ITGC**, **CMMC 2.0 Level 2**, **NIST 800-171 r3**, **UK Cyber Essentials**, and customer-specific requirements **Required Qualifications** - Minimum **7 years** experience performing security analyst and **DFIR** activities - Minimum **7 years** experience in **IT security** - Hold at least one of the following certifications (examples): **CISSP**, **GCIH**, **CHFI**, **GCFE**, **GCFA**, **GREM**, **GNFA**, **GCSA**, **GCPN**, **GPCS**, **GSOC**, **GCDA**, **ACE**, **EnCE**, **AWS Certified Security – Specialty** - Ability to document processes, procedures, and results for peer review - Experience implementing/troubleshooting/sustaining endpoint security mechanisms (e.g., **EDR**, **CASB**) on **Windows, macOS, and/or Linux** - Experience performing at least one of: **Incident Response**, **Digital Forensics**, **Malware Analysis**, **Network Traffic Collection**, **Reverse Engineering** - **Must be a U.S. Citizen** **Preferred Qualifications** - Endpoint security experience across Windows/macOS/Linux - Experienc
