**Elastic — Senior Software Engineer (Security Integrations / Prompt Engineering)** ## About the role Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables people to find answers in real time using all their data at scale. The Elastic Search AI Platform (used by 50%+ of the Fortune 500) combines search precision with AI intelligence to help organizations accelerate what matters. You’ll join the **Integrations Platform** team to build tools that improve **developer experience**—making it easier to build, deploy, and understand **Security Integrations**. This includes infrastructure and deployment tooling, telemetry pipelines, and AI-driven tools/evaluations that help interpret data into actionable insights. This is fast-moving and often ambiguous work. You’ll operate without a fixed spec, listen thoughtfully, collaborate across teams, and drive toward outcomes. ## What you’ll do - Lead **green-field initiatives** that shape the future of the developer experience for building and maintaining **Security Integrations** - Architect and drive tooling/automation strategy, leveraging **GenAI** to solve problems at scale - Foster a collaborative team culture (open communication, mutual respect, thoughtful decision-making) and mentor engineers - Represent the team in the open, working closely with **Security** and **Ingest** teams, Elastic users, and the broader open source community ## What you bring - Experience building and running **AI evals at scale**, with strong measurement of output quality and regression detection - Strong proficiency in **Python** and **Go**, plus hands-on **Terraform**, **BigQuery** for telemetry/data analysis - Ability to run projects end-to-end with autonomy, and good judgment to bring others along and seek input when needed ## Bonus points - Production experience with the general **Elastic ingest model** - Experience in **cybersecurity** - Experience parsing logs/events, ideally with exposure to **OpenTelemetry**, **ECS**, or **OCSF** in a security/observability context ## Compensation (base salary) - Typical starting range: **$133,100 — $210,600 USD** - Select locations starting range: **$159,900 — $252,900 USD** ## Additional information Elastic is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive culture.
