Barbaricum is seeking an experienced, innovative, and motivated **Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer** to support the mission objectives and needs of the **U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM)** in **Tampa, FL**. --- **Responsibilities** - Develop, implement, and monitor security measures to protect computer systems, networks, software, and information to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability. - Monitor, detect, mitigate, and respond to cyber incidents; provide operational cybersecurity and infrastructure support. - Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies and ensure requirements are addressed. - Conduct certification and testing in accordance with the **Risk Management Framework (RMF)** and **NIST** policy. - Identify deficiencies and vulnerabilities and provide risk mitigation recommendations; integrate projects with USSOCOM **ICAM, PKI, ABAC, and RBAC** capabilities. - Automate security and testing processes by integrating security tools and practices into the development pipeline. - Help teams break down silos and unify software development, deployment, security, and operations. --- **Qualifications** - **Active Top Secret clearance** and **SCI eligible**. - Education/experience: - **BA/BS + 3 years** relevant experience, **or** - **AA/AS + 7+ years** experience, **or** - **9+ years** total experience and **HS Diploma**. - Current **DoD 8140 IAT II** certification (e.g., **CompTIA Security+**). - Expertise with monitoring tools (e.g., **SIEM**) and intrusion detection/prevention systems (**IDS/IPS**) to identify, analyze, and respond to threats in real time. - Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including **RMF**, **NIST 800-53**, and **CMMC**. - Experience with **Zero Trust (ZT)** architectures and automated unit, functional, integration, and security testing. - Experience establishing and maintaining **software factories** to support rapid development, testing, and deployment. --- **Desired** - Ability to work **fully on-site** with minimal accommodation. - Prior experience supporting **USSOCOM**. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. - Ability to work with teams and also be self-motivated to complete projects independently. --- **EEO Commitment** All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, ethnicity, age, national origin, citizenship, religion, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, family structure, marital status, ancestry, domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran or military status, or any other basis prohibited by law.
