**Staff Agentic Engineer** **About the Role** BambooHR is seeking a Staff Agentic Engineer to own the technical direction of a product area and establish patterns that multiple teams build upon. You'll define how engineers specify, delegate, and verify agentic work while setting standards that keep this work safe at scale. **Key Responsibilities** • Own technical direction of a product area, setting standards for how teams specify, delegate, and verify agentic work • Define specification quality standards and review gates across teams • Establish frameworks for when work warrants agentic execution vs. direct implementation • Drive large-scale efforts by coordinating human and agentic contributors across multiple teams • Set verification practices that keep agent-produced work safe at scale • Define security architecture for agentic work, including data-flow boundaries and access controls • Build scaffolding teams delegate through: prompts, agent instructions, repo conventions, and playbooks • Resolve highest-risk technical decisions across the product area • Partner with product leadership to shape roadmap direction • Mentor engineers across teams on agentic craft and best practices **Required Experience** • 8+ years of software engineering with record of shipping customer-facing production software • Track record of setting agent patterns and AI-powered solutions reused across teams • Depth in system design, data models, and architecture • Demonstrated ability to define specification standards and review gates • Command of context engineering for reliable agent execution • Experience designing agent workflows for parallel execution with human checkpoints • Proven ability to set security and privacy review standards • Fluency in test design and evaluation standards • Experience with multi-team version control, CI/CD, and safe release standards • Production software operations experience with observability and incident response • Strong mentoring and cross-team technical leadership skills • Excellent written and verbal communication **What We Offer** • Remote position (available in state listed) • Comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance • 4 weeks vacation, 12 company holidays, parental leave, volunteer time off • 401k with up to 6% company match • $2,000 paid vacation bonus • EAP through Headspace • Recognized great company culture **Note:** Remote position contingent on passing background and credit check.
