## Overview Perplexity is scaling its **Enterprise Engineering Organization** and is seeking **Engineering Managers** with deep expertise across the enterprise domain to lead the next wave of growth. You’ll combine **technical judgment**, **product intuition**, and **people leadership** to help large organizations adopt AI at scale. We’re hiring across: - **Enterprise Control Plane** - **Enterprise Data Plane** - **Connector Marketplace & Activation** Depending on your focus, you’ll lead and grow a team in one of these areas. --- ## What You’ll Do ### Enterprise Control Plane Build the identity, security, and governance foundations for large organizations to deploy Perplexity confidently, including: - SSO, SCIM, role-based access - Customer-managed encryption keys (BYOK) - Admin APIs and enforceable access policies - Audit logs and analytics for administrator visibility - Support for regulated-industry requirements (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, data governance, residency) ### Enterprise Data Plane Build the connector platform and semantic data layer for reliable, permission-aware access to enterprise systems and knowledge, including: - Managed authorization and private-system access - Data freshness and reliability at scale ### Connector Marketplace & Activation Build discovery, recommendations, onboarding, and marketplace experiences to help customers find and adopt integrations, including: - Partner collaboration to expand the connector ecosystem Across all areas, you’ll translate enterprise customer needs into scalable technical solutions across Perplexity’s products. --- ## Responsibilities - Set technical direction and guide architecture decisions across the enterprise platform - Build foundational systems that enable broad, confident enterprise deployment - Shape roadmaps with product and design using strong technical judgment and product intuition - Set a high bar for reliability, code quality, testing, and maintenance; lead incident response and safe rollouts for platform changes and connector migrations - Partner across engineering to ensure platforms are extensible and easy to adopt - Represent engineering in strategic enterprise customer conversations with Sales and Customer Success to remove adoption barriers - Oversee hiring, onboarding, and mentorship for a rapidly growing team; develop rigorous interview pipelines - Work with Perplexity co-founders to deliver enterprise engineering priorities --- ## Qualifications - Strong technical judgment and experience building enterprise platforms/products, including reliability, security, and usability requirements - Domain expertise in at least one: - **Enterprise Control Plane:** IAM, SSO/SCIM, RBAC, key management, admin APIs, policy enforcement, audit logging, data governance, compliance/residency - **Enterprise Data Plane:** connector/integration platforms (auth, permissions, sync, reliability at scale) and/or semantic data/knowledge platforms for AI - **Connector Marketplace & Activation:** discovery/recommendations, integration onboarding, marketplace UX, or partner ecosystems - Ability to deliver in a fast-moving environment while balancing customer needs, quality, and long-term maintainability - Detail-oriented and quality-focused (customers run critical workflows) - Ability to translate customer needs into clear technical priorities and communicate tradeoffs - Experience building and managing high-performing engineering teams (feedback, effective 1:1s, career devel
