## Software Systems Engineer (Remote) **Type:** Full Time | **Level:** Mid Level **Clearance:** Secret (DoD) ### Position Summary Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a **Software Systems Engineer** to develop and maintain complex operating software applications using manufacturer releases and utilities. This **fully remote** role includes designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs, supporting operating system maintenance, and evaluating software products across all task areas. *Note: The position supports all task areas and is contingent upon contract award and funding.* ### Key Responsibilities - Formulate and define specifications for complex operating software applications - Modify and maintain complex existing applications using manufacturer engineering releases and utilities - Design, code, test, debug, and document software programs - Provide operating system maintenance, including sophisticated file maintenance routines and support for large telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical/scientific software packages - Support all phases of software systems programming applications - Evaluate new and existing software products ### Required Qualifications - **At least 5 years** of relevant experience - Relevant certification from a **nationally recognized technical authority** - **DoD 8570 Baseline Certification, Category IAT Level I** ### Security Requirements - **SECRET** ### About Nationwide IT Services (NIS) Nationwide IT Services is a government contractor supporting **Department of Defense** and Federal customers.
