## Senior Software Engineer — San Francisco, CA (Onsite 5 days) **Type:** Full-time **Comp:** $200k–$235k + equity ### About Fazeshift Fazeshift builds **AI agents** that handle **accounts-receivable work**—including **billing, collections, payments, and cash application**. We’re a small team (9 engineers + Founder/CTO + VP Engineering) and we’re hiring to **increase production capacity** and **improve the quality and sophistication** of the software we build. ### What makes the engineering interesting We’re intentionally **not the system of record**. Our agents work across **customers’ ERPs, banks, and billing systems**, where: - A **timeout** doesn’t necessarily mean a write failed - **Blind retries** can be the wrong answer - APIs and integrations can be inconsistent (including **late or duplicate webhooks**) ### Key problems you’ll help solve - **Safe real-world actions by agents**: permissions, auditability, retries, idempotency, durable execution, and knowing when a **human must stay in the loop** - **Building a coherent product without being the system of record**: handling inconsistent APIs, delayed/duplicated webhooks, and uncertain write outcomes - **How teams work with coding agents**: delegating meaningful implementation, debugging, testing, and exploration—while keeping independent tasks moving in parallel We’re especially interested in engineers who have **already changed how they work because of AI**. ### What we’re looking for - **5+ years** of professional experience - Strong **TypeScript / full-stack** skills - **Production ownership** - Judgment, debugging ability, systems thinking, and understanding what you’re shipping ### Stack TypeScript/Next.js, tRPC, Prisma/MySQL/PlanetScale, Inngest, AWS ### How to apply Email **chris.zehner@fazeshift.com** with **HN** in the subject, plus your **LinkedIn/GitHub/résumé** and a few sentences about: - something you built and **how you knew it worked**, **or** - how **AI has changed your approach** *No public code needed—please avoid confidential details.*
