## Principal Product Security Practitioner **Location:** Barrow-In-Furness **Salary:** Competitive ### About the role Defence platforms operate in hostile, high-consequence environments—so survival depends on uncompromising cyber resilience across **embedded hardware**, **tactical networks (IT)**, and **mission-critical systems (OT)**. You’ll join an engineering delivery team to help ensure the next generation of submarine systems are developed, built, and delivered to be **appropriately secure and resilient** in their operational environment. ### Core duties - Understand system concepts and architectures to assess **Product Security**: threats, attack avenues, and secure development practices - Identify, analyse, and evaluate **security risks across the product lifecycle** - Manage the **security interface between IT & OT** product families to ensure platform cyber resilience - Represent Product Security at **Design Reviews**, presenting risks and mitigation options to gain stakeholder agreement - Develop and maintain **security architecture**, including requirement derivation and definition - Produce and support key deliverables (e.g., **Security Strategies**, **Threat Assessments**, **Security Case** artefacts) - Collaborate with engineering disciplines such as **Safety Engineering** to ensure the cyber interface is understood and risk-aware ### Essential skills - Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM / Information Security / Cyber Security discipline - Experience in **Product Security / Information Assurance / Cyber Security** within **Critical National Infrastructures** (e.g., Defence / Financial Services) - Recognised industry security qualifications (e.g., **CCP, CISSP, CISM**) or ability to achieve - Ability to influence senior stakeholders by bridging technical engineering and cyber risk ### The Product Security Team You’ll manage product security and information risk across the lifecycle of BAE Systems’ complex products and systems—providing specialist security expertise from **system design through delivery, operation, and through-life support**. ### Relocation & inclusion - **Relocation support** may be available across Submarines roles (subject to eligibility) - BAE Systems is committed to an inclusive workplace and welcomes applications, including discussion of **reasonable adjustments** ### Security & eligibility notes Many roles are subject to **security and export control restrictions**.
