**Senior HPC Data Storage Engineer (RHEL)** **Overview** AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a 100% employee-owned federal government contractor, is seeking a Senior HPC Data Storage Engineer to manage and optimize high-performance storage supporting mission-critical scientific and technical computing. **Key Responsibilities** • Administer and maintain high-performance storage for Linux-based HPC systems • Manage storage capacity, quotas, data placement, utilization, and performance • Monitor and troubleshoot parallel filesystems, storage hardware, and infrastructure • Support SAN, NAS, archive, and enterprise storage technologies • Develop scripts and automation using Bash, Python, Perl, or similar tools • Collaborate with HPC users, systems engineers, network engineers, and cybersecurity personnel • Provide technical support and maintain system documentation **Required Qualifications** • Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field • 5-7 years of experience with HPC, Linux systems, storage, or infrastructure engineering • DoD 8140 IAT II level or higher certification (Security+, SecurityX, etc.) • Experience administering parallel filesystems (Lustre, BeeGFS, GPFS, or comparable) • Production Linux and enterprise storage experience • Practical scripting experience (Bash, Python, Perl) • Strong Linux filesystem and storage administration knowledge **Helpful Experience** • RHCSA or RHCE certification • Ansible, Git, monitoring tools, or infrastructure automation • Lustre or parallel filesystem production experience • Performance troubleshooting tools (perf, strace, tcpdump, vmstat, iostat) • SAN infrastructure, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NVMe, or InfiniBand experience **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 **Salary:** $140,000 - $160,000/year 📋 Healthcare, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance, and education assistance **EEO Employer**
