**Systems Analyst II - Information Technology Div.** **Overview** Performs complex computer systems analysis work in support of TxDOT information technology systems with a focus on robotics and computer science. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing systems. Provides technical support, coordination, and advice for development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of projects/programs and systems with robotics. **Essential Duties** • Creates new standard reports collaborating with end users for robotic systems and intelligent automation platforms • Reviews and analyzes reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems • Writes and updates computer/server application programs using AI, machine learning, and computer vision • Writes programs and queries for spreadsheet or database software • Monitors hardware and software changes; provides current information to end users • Tests and diagnoses systems to ensure critical requirements are met • Analyzes user needs, defines system scope, and documents requirements • Analyzes procedures and systems for efficiency and effectiveness • Provides technical assistance and troubleshoots software applications • Responds to requests to design, build, maintain, or repair reports and applications • Manages user security changes and facilitates authorizations • Writes and reviews technical specifications **Minimum Qualifications** **Education:** Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (relevant work experience may substitute year-for-year) **Experience:** 1 year in transportation engineering, software engineering, robotic automation, systems analysis, or related work **Licenses/Certifications:** Valid driver's license (state vehicle operation required) **Preferred Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in computer science and/or robotics • 1+ year transportation, software, or robotics engineering experience **Key Competencies** • IT/IS software and hardware development methodologies • Database management systems and related technologies • Researching, analyzing, and interpreting policies and regulations • Scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing computer programs • Troubleshooting computer and robotic systems • Analyzing business processes for automation opportunities • Designing and supporting software applications and system integrations • Developing reports, dashboards, and performance metrics • Technical communication with diverse stakeholders • Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams **Conditions of Employment** Selected incumbent must maintain security/integrity of agency critical infrastructure and will be subject to regular criminal history assessments and foreign adversary reviews.
