You’ll work in a fast-paced, agile environment alongside other engineers to advance the technologies running our systems, improve safety and reliability, and make complex distributed services easier to understand. The ideal candidate stays current with **AWS service releases**, industry trends, and design patterns, and has strong **time-management** and **communication** skills. --- ## Technologies You May Work With - **Languages:** Python, Ruby, Rust - **Infrastructure as Code:** Terraform, OpenTofu, AWS CDK - **Source Control / CI-CD:** GitLab, Git - **Observability:** DataDog - **Containers:** Docker - **AWS / Cloud-native:** ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, Transit Gateway, Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudFront, S3, AppSync, API Gateway, and more --- ## Responsibilities - Build highly scalable, cloud-native, resilient applications and infrastructure in **AWS** - Maintain and improve extensible **infrastructure-as-code** using Terraform - Learn, maintain, and improve existing **deployment strategies** - Deliver effective **observability, monitoring, and alerting** patterns - Serve as an escalation point to identify and resolve **root causes** for production incidents - Assist with designing **globally distributed systems and processes** - Identify deficiencies in applications/infrastructure and correct them - Define new approaches and tailored solutions to complex technical problems - Act as a project leader with other SREs and ensure progress is communicated to stakeholders --- ## Minimum Qualifications - BS/MS/Ph.D. (or equivalent) + **5 years** experience - Training in **secure coding practices** (preferred) - Proficient scripting in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, JavaScript) - Experience designing and operating high-scale patterns in **AWS** - Experience building repeatable **CI/CD** workflows (GitLab preferred) - Excellent communication skills - Ability to self-manage across competing projects - Ability to quickly understand and debug complex distributed systems --- ## Additional Qualifications (Preferred) - Confident writing in **Python** - **AWS Cloud Certification(s)** (Professional Level) - Experience with **GCP and/or Azure** - Experience working for a **public company** - Open-source contributions or technical blog experience --- ## Compensation & Application Deadline - **Base pay:** $130,000 – $155,000 (varies based on skills/experience) - Applications accepted until **5/25/2025** --- ## Benefits Company-wide bonuses (based on monthly sales targets), employee referral bonuses, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, certification reimbursement, and certification completion bonuses—plus a modern, high-tech, fun work environment.
