The **Onboard Developer Platform** team builds tools and solutions that enable faster model training, quality evaluation, and simulation — empowering engineers to develop better autonomous driving models and systems. --- ### 🛠️ What You'll Do - Understand the problem the current LPM model is solving and its implementation details - Extend reinforcement learning infrastructure and conduct experiments on Waymo's RL system; tune parameters and compare results - Identify promising new RL technologies and apply them to Waymo problems --- ### ✅ Requirements - Currently pursuing a **Master's or PhD** in Software Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field - Fundamental understanding of **machine learning and reinforcement learning** - 2+ years of project experience involving coding with realized, impactful results --- ### ⭐ Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of hands-on ML or RL project experience - 2+ years optimizing system infrastructure (simulation, ML/RL, or backend systems) - Experience with autonomous driving or related technologies --- ### 💰 Compensation - **Master's:** $70/hr - **PhD:** $85/hr - Housing/relocation bonus (if applicable) --- ### 🎁 Perks - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Free meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks) onsite - Free Google shuttle access & onsite gym - Intern events and networking opportunities --- > 📍 **Hybrid onsite** internship.
