**About the role** At Rubrik IT, we’re building a “thinking enterprise” where intelligent, agentic systems reason across data, tools, and workflows to drive speed, quality, and measurable business impact. As an **AI Architect**, you’ll be a pivotal technical leader delivering **AI Native** solutions that make this vision real. You’ll act as the technical bridge between complex business problems and cutting-edge AI execution—translating ambiguous needs into concrete AI solution designs, ensuring successful deployment, and driving measurable impact. **What you’ll do** - **Lead applied AI solution design and architecture**, turning ambiguous business problems into actionable AI plans. - **Contribute to large-scale distributed AI/ML system design**, focusing on performance, reliability, and security. - **Design and improve retrieval, prompting, tool-calling, and orchestration patterns** for use cases like knowledge assistants, workflow automation, and decision support. - **Champion design standards, patterns, and best practices** for scalable, secure AI application development across teams. - **Drive hands-on development and implementation** of key AI components across traditional and Generative AI. - **Build and deploy AI-enabled internal workflows** connecting enterprise systems, data sources, model APIs, and automation layers. - Use an **“editor” mindset** to accelerate development while rigorously auditing/reviewing AI-generated code for reliability, security, observability, and documentation. - **Lead and continuously improve MLOps pipelines** (training, versioning, deployment, monitoring). - **Develop evaluation approaches** for output quality, retrieval accuracy, latency, and failure modes—using results to improve system performance over time. - Identify where **human review, controls, and escalation paths** are needed for responsible AI deployment. - Apply engineering judgment to balance **speed, usability, risk, and maintainability** in production and near-production. - **Collaborate with executive leadership, data science, engineering, and product stakeholders** to translate business use cases into scalable AI solutions. - **Lead rigorous problem formulation** with R&D, Security, Data, HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure AI is applied to the right problems. - Provide **technical leadership and mentorship** to AI/ML engineers and foster hands-on experimentation. - Contribute **reusable components, playbooks, and patterns** to reduce duplicate effort and improve delivery speed. - Deliver **technical architecture and AI implementations tied to measurable business outcomes**. - **Research and evaluate cutting-edge AI/ML techniques** to identify opportunities for platform enhancement and new solutions. **Experience you’ll need** - **10+ years** of core Software/Systems Engineering architecture experience, including **4+ years** building and deploying applied AI/ML systems in production. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (Master’s/Ph.D. a plus). - Hands-on experience with **Generative AI** (LLMs, **RAG**, context graphs, memory management, agentic architectures). - Strong programming skills in **Python, Java, or Go**; deep proficiency with GenAI orchestration frameworks (e.g., **LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel**) and working knowledge of ML frameworks (e.g., **PyTorch, TensorFlow**). - Experience with modern AI data ecosystem: **Vector DBs** (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate) and **Graph DBs** (
