## Software Engineer, Data Loading Infrastructure ### About the team The Data Loading Infrastructure (LunaDb) team builds the core architecture that powers Asana’s web, mobile, and external API platforms—helping deliver millions of requests within seconds. You’ll help design, maintain, and scale data infrastructure so Asana’s applications stay high-performing, fault-tolerant, and globally consistent. ### What you’ll achieve - Develop, test, and operate scalable backend microservices, caching layers, and high-throughput data processing platforms. - Contribute across the full software development lifecycle: system design, implementation, automated testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. - Build and optimize storage interactions (relational and non-relational), streaming data pipelines, and database query pathways. - Partner cross-functionally with product engineering teams to integrate backend infrastructure with new product features and enterprise capabilities. - Maintain platform health through standard team on-call rotations, debugging production issues, and improving monitoring tools. - Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews and architectural discussions. ### About you - 2+ years of experience working within large, well-maintained codebases. - Experience operating backend services in production, including operational tooling, monitoring/alerts, and resolving live incidents. - Familiarity with containerized environments, cloud infrastructure, and microservice architectures. - Knowledge of relational/non-relational storage, real-time streaming, or caching layers is a plus. - Clear, collaborative communication with engineers and cross-functional teams. - Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and apply them to improve productivity and decision-making. ### Location & schedule - Based in San Francisco with an office-centric hybrid schedule. - Standard in-office days: **Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday**. - Option to work from home on **Wednesdays**. - **Fridays** depend on the work and teams you partner with (your recruiter will share details). ### Compensation (estimated) - Estimated base salary range: **$171,000 – $190,000** (actual base varies by market and qualifications). - Total compensation may include equity, and benefits (and sales incentive pay for most sales roles). ### Benefits (highlights) - Mental health, wellness & fitness benefits - Career coaching & support - Inclusive family building benefits - Long-term savings or retirement plans - In-office culinary options ### Equal opportunity Asana is committed to building teams with diverse backgrounds and perspectives and provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants. #LI-Hybrid
